Oh yes, it's getting on that lovely time of year again when fleas and ticks abound and we have to worry about protecting our animals from these pests. I hate the additional expense of having to buy flea protection products, but about 10 years ago I experienced a horrific flea infestation in my home, with the three dogs I had at the time, and I swore "Never Again"!

Not all flea products are safe for our animals. The main culprit/ingredient that seems to cause the most harm to animals are organophosphate insecticides. Several of the lower-cost flea products contain these particular insecticides. You owe it to your animals to do your homework before purchasing flea protection products.
