I sign quite a few online petitions concerning animal rights and environmental issues on a regular basis. I received the following petition this evening urging animal lovers to make their voices heard in ensuring that animal cruelty is treated as the serious crime that it is. This petition's goal is to lend support to the Tracking Animal Cruelty Crimes Act of 2007, which would require the FBI to add animal cruelty as a separate category in its National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS).
